Kearoma welcomes Mrejo live at Miss Millenium 2013 PDF Print

Kearoma Rantao has made an undeniable impression with her smooth and melodic voice in the Botswana music scene and she already shared stages with big names like Bongo Muffin, Theo Kgosinkwe, Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbulu, Tshepo Tshola and Ringo Madlingozi. This time she saw it fit that she collaborates with Mafikeng’s rising hip hop star, Mrejo.

After recording with a few groups in Botswana Kearoma made her dream of releasing her debut solo AfroJazz album ‘When The Music Plays’ a reality in 2012 June, much to the excitement of her fans. An exciting, fame eminent and newfangled sound has already gained interest in the entire country and across the world, hitting local airwaves and making her the best in her field.

On the other hand, Mrejo (born Reginald Thapelo Molalabangwe) also released his debut solo single named ‘Lehipi’ (2012) which is receiving massive airplay on national and local radio stations in South Africa. Mrejo has also done extensive work in the SA music industry working with Nigerian jazz-afrobeat saxophone player, Olufemi. He also shared the stage with heavyweights such as Mandoza, Zola, Mapaputsi, Tshepo Tshola, Brown Dash, Mafikizolo and many others after he released an album with a group called Matona in 2005. Ubuhle Bakho was then a favorite song on the album with favorable amount of airplay on Motsweding FM. Mrejo was then featured on one track for Olufemi’s Loxion Praise gospel compilation. Mrejo also had an opportunity to work with the famous Zola of the Zola 7 TV show. Zola also featured Mrejo on a song, which will be released on Zola’s next project.

Mrejo has completed work on his debut album to be released in 2013. The album is based on his personal journey through challenging times in the business and will be titled ‘1000 Reflections’ as a metaphor to someone looking at himself on a shattered mirror. This project is a personal look at the ups and downs he faced on his road to success and will forever communicate messages of hope and inspiration to those following in his footsteps.

Catch Mrejo with Kearoma at Miss Millenium 2013 in Botswana. And if you can’t get to Millenium Jazz Restaurant in Mogoditshane (just outside Gaborone) then we will let you know when to catch his interviews on your radio stations.
