In 1998 he received a call from the legendary Hugh Masekela, to join his band on a fulltime basis. “We immediately flew to USA and Europe for a tour. That was the beginning of bigger things. Every three to six months we were out of the country performing overseas. Countries and cities we toured are too many to mention.” Says Lucas Senyatso.

In no time, word of mouth spread all over Johannesburg about the new bassist in town. Suddenly his phone was ringing all the time, as all the big stars in South African music industry wanted to work with him. Stars like Sibongile Khumalo, Themba Mkhize, Gloria Bosman, Judith Sephuma, Ringo Madlingozi, Patty Austin (USA), Keiko Matsui (Japan), and many more, have used his services as a studio session musician, live performance and he also wrote songs for some of them.

In 2006 his debut album ‘All Of Me’, was released through EMI Records. The album was nominated twice for the SAMA’s. The single ‘BABY YOU’ was number 1 on Kaya fm’s top 30 for over two months.

In 2007 Lucas Senyatso recorded and toured Japan with Keiko Matsui with her MOYO project. Lucas Senyatso conducts private music lessons during his spare time. He still continues to write and produce music for other artists and himself. He recently wrote a song for Thembisile and Siphokazi.
